Oyster Farm Part 2 - Coffin Bay - March 2010

SWIFT WATER OYSTER FARM

Here we are again, North Kellidie Bay

The tinnie is soon in the water despite the ever present WIND!

The view from our panarama annexe window mesh, our fly free zone!

One of the rare occassions the wind had abated and the dolphins were ready to PLAY!

Wow! did the sky light up this morning

Off to work!! This is fun for the short term!
Sue's catching lunch!

Tea is served! Now this is the FUN part!

Another calm morning and low tide

Today our oyster farmer mate Anthony had some tourist. Ex - Port Lincoln locals and great mates, Neil & Marian Trudgen, whom as kid I used to sell them bait in the form of 'CLEANED SQUID' for their Kirton Point shop  . It would now be considered food grade 'CALAMARI!

Neil can't believe it, real FRESH oysters, now that's a baby!

More samples of the BABY's

Now this is what you call a CHOCKER!

They all went down with the minimum of fuss!

Now this is what you call a fishing deck!

An evening sundowner

Helping sort some oyster, and a great fishing bag!

Sue did not venture out on this trip, and it's not winter yet!

Now this beast has some PINCERS!

20 ltr bucket 3/4 full of shell, 2 ltr icecream container 3/4 full of oyster meat, pitty the quantity are not reversed! Oyster meat exported to the Trudgens in WA. Well most of it!
